Is a semi V roller right for your boat?
Match the roller to the shape of your bow. A semi V roller fits a bow with a slight curve. If your bow is aluminum with a wide ridge, or fiberglass with a keel strip, use a slotted V roller. If it is fiberglass with a pointy, deep V bow, use a deep V roller. If it is completely flat, use a flat roller.
Semi V roller size
| Inside bracket width | Roller | Model | Actual roller width | Bolt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4″ | 4″ semi V | RP-446 | 3 5/8″ | 1/2″ |
How to measure
Measure the inside width of your bow roller bracket. The 4″ semi V roller fits a 4″ bracket. All Stoltz bow rollers use a 1/2″ bolt.
How to choose end caps
Semi V rollers are offered with flat, medium bell and large bell end caps. Which one you need depends on the curve of your bow. End caps mount on the outside of the bracket on the same 1/2″ bolt as the roller.
- Flat end caps: for a semi V bow that is almost flat.
- Medium bell end caps: for a semi V bow with a decent curve.
- Large bell end caps: for a sharper bow.
Your boat should rest on the center roller. The end caps guide the bow, and the boat should never bend them.
