Is a slotted V roller right for your boat?

Match the roller to the shape of your bow. A slotted V roller fits an aluminum boat with a wide ridge on the bow, and it also works on a fiberglass boat that has a keel strip or ridge on the bow, or a bow that's less pointy. For a fiberglass boat with a pointy, deep V bow, a deep V roller is the usual choice. If the bow has a slight curve, use a semi V roller. If it is completely flat, use a flat roller.

The size is the inside width of the bracket the roller fits. The actual roller width is listed so you can check the fit.

How to measure

Measure the inside width of your bow roller bracket and order the slotted V roller with that size. All Stoltz bow rollers use a 1/2″ bolt.

How to choose end caps

Slotted V rollers are offered with flat, medium bell and large bell end caps. Which one you need depends entirely on the curve of your bow. End caps mount on the outside of the bracket on the same 1/2″ bolt as the roller.

  • Flat end caps: for a flat or nearly flat bow.
  • Medium bell end caps: for a bow with a decent curve.
  • Large bell end caps: for a sharp or deep V bow.

Your boat should rest on the center roller. The end caps guide the bow, and the boat should never bend them.
